I saw the Queen musical last Saturday and I'm just settling back to my mortal life. It's crazy that the show's been performed for 10 years already and I only see it now...
It was so close that I would've seen the "with Paul Rodgers" -thing, but my parents didn't know how big a deal it was for me back then so I guess this is the closest thing to a Queen concert I'm ever going to witness.

And it was great.

Not like "OMG I'M GONNA DIE RIGHT NOW RIGHT HERE HAPPY" -great, but toughing and it really brought me back to that time when my passion for Queen was at its highest (before Brian didn't answer any of my emails though I put a great deal of emotion and stress in them *sadface*)

I liked it. Shaggalleo Gigolo was hilariously the best and I almost cried during No one but you. The graphics really looked like very original though - like "video tape" -old. (And you can only get that if you've seen the show)

And though my mood had a little set back later that night when I feared for my life, I felt pretty awesome afterwards.

Hey everyone! I'd like to get some feedback about the songs I've written. Unfortunately  music is something you can't submit to DA.
So here's a link  to our band's soundcloud page.

Blizzard is completely written by me. Please listen to it and come back here to comment on it!
If you don't already know: I play bass.
Thank you for at least reading! :)

And by the way I'll be 18 tomorrow!

Not so good day today... Well now I'm just about to do one of the millions of the things I should do today: I'm gonna write the last "cultural diary" and it's about ballet.

Last Saturday I went to see Don Quijote along with other maths and physics students. Our teacher calls it "Classic Geometry in Classic Ballet". First we got a backstage tour and then a meeting with an artist, one of the dancers. After that we ate a dinner in the staff restaurant and then we attended the premier of...

Don Quijote ballet
:bulletred: The story is about this slightly mad and old soldier, Don Quijote, who comes to a village with his sidekick, Sancho Panza, and meets this girl who reminds him of his bride of dreams, Dulcinea. The girl has the classic problem that she's in love with a man who is too poor to please her dad, who wants her to marry this rich and dumb guy. Don Quijote decides to help the young couple to get each other.
:bulletred: Ballet is, in a way, difficult to watch. Because we had seats in the front row I couldn't watch everything at the same time. If I watched to the right hand side to see how the story went on I missed the other dancers on my left. And sometimes I concentrated on the orchestra, so I missed the whole dancing thing up on stage.
:bulletred: I think the dancers were very good but I also think that there still is better ballets.

Movies I've lately seen:

:bulletyellow: The Three Musketeers 3D
- Was ok.
- Nothing special, but still entertaining.
- Visually very nice. (furniture and decoration in the castles, clothes)

:bulletyellow: Tintin 3D
- Was actually very good.
- I liked it a lot and it lived up to my expectations

:bulletyellow: Paranormal Activity 3
- I didn't sleep that night.
- I somehow assumed it to be boring, cause I think the first was.
- Now I've promised myself that I'll never watch another horror movie with invisible bad guy.

Books I've lately read:

:bulletgreen: Freddie Mercury - His Life in His Own Words
- In fact my second time reading it.
- Very interesting as a fan.
- Inspiring as a starting band member.

:bulletgreen: KISS - Behind The Mask
- It's nice to know their story, though I'm not their biggest fan.
- Also inspiring as a band member.

:bulletgreen: I've mysteriously lost both books within this week. *sadface*

Music I've lately listened:

:bulletorange: Michael Manring
- Last Sunday I was listening to him in near Suisto club.
- He's phenomenal bass player, who comes up with innovative playing techniques continuously.
- I hadn't ever heard about him, but he became one of my idols.
- I got his signature and he wished me luck in my bass playing career.

:bulletorange: Beatles
- Nice and easy to listen.
- Clear and simple melodies to sing along.

:bulletorange: Sting
- I'm trying to learn the right feeling when playing bass, this time thru' Sting's songs.
- Seven Days is my current favourite.

:bulletorange: Doom/Death metal
Subrosa - Inheritance
Batillus - And the World is as Night to Them
Meshuggah - several songs
- These songs work as a background music when I'm doing my homework, because I can't sing along and the melody isn't so clear so I can concentrate on something else.

:bulletorange: Slayer
- I attended their gig last spring and then started listening to them.
- I think if I hadn't got the personal experience of their live gig, I probably wouldn't be listening to them right now.

Video games (supposing they're culture):

:bulletblue: Sims 3
- I've built a whole city (architecting is fun)
- I've now built also some farms, cause I bought the pets expansion pack.

Hello everyone! I'm back from France, so it's time for another diary entry.

Btw France was great, especially Paris and I found new shoes and coat. The only bad thing during the week was that my boyfriend got a bad virus and he had to be in hospital two days. Luckily he got better quick. :D

So, this time I'm going to tell you about my artistic hobbies. I'm not sure what counts (, you know, if reading or going to movies is an artistic hobby), but I'm dividing my artistic hobbies in two categories, art and music.

:music:MUSIC:music:

:bulletyellow:Singing
I've sung as long as I can recall, not solo though. I belonged to a school choir for three years, starting at age of nine. Then I kept a little pause.
I started singing again after a year. We had this band in the academy of music (or conservatoire or whatever it is) and I sang the backing vocals. That lasted two years; then the others went to high school and quit the band. The new members were more the same age as I was, so we got along better and that way I also had more fun with them. I had all along been the bass player, but now I had to take the place of vocalist, cause no-one else would. I had a lot of fun doing White Queen and Easy Livin' for instance... till I started to dislike my voice after two years.
Now I don't sing anymore. I haven't sung after last spring, except in my room and shower. (Who could stay quiet listening to Queen?)

:bulletyellow:Instruments
2001-2003 Recorder
2003-2008 Clarinet (I got pretty good)
2008-nowadays Bass Guitar <3  I've learned at least blues, walking bass, bossanova, reggae and some particular bass lines (I'm not going to list everything)
2006-> I started learning piano by myself. Mostly I've made progress by playing Queen. My favourite song to play on piano is Love Of My Life. I think it would be Bohemian Rhapsody, but I just can't play it from :music:fandango:music: to :music:for meeeee:music:, you know :)

:bulletyellow:Orchestras
With clarinet I was in different orchestras as long as I played it. The biggest orchestra, with which I've played in a concert, was 90 clarinets event. I played the second clarinet with about ten others and that's pretty good, cause there was something like six parts for clarinet. I've played bass in a small orchestra for three years now.

:bulletyellow:Band
The idea of band has been around for a year and half or so, but the consistence hasn't settled. It was pretty good in the beginning of this fall, but now I don't know if our singer is leaving us. We also have a name crisis. The first idea that could be taken seriously was Dark Moor, but then we found out that a band with that name exists and now we have a facebook profile with a name Darkmoor, so it wouldn't be that same, but I just don't know... It doesn't feel quite right.
Anyways, here's two demos of ours: soundcloud.com/darkmoor (I know I already posted them to one of my previous entries) If you listen to Sleep, please remember I'm not so bad playing bass really.

:pencil:ART:pencil:

I think the thing is that I always thought I was very good, so I kept on doing it, drawing I mean.
I attended a school of arts when I was little. I was there a year or so, but I quitted because the others wanted to speak swedish and I felt like an outsider. I started again at the age of 12 and as those of you who are watching me know, I completed the diploma work last spring. For those who don't know, here it is: fav.me/d3exudp
Everything else is quite at it's best in there, but I think this still represents my mouse technique at it's best: fav.me/d1vxguc

Sorry but now I'm too tired to go on with this, but feel free to ask if you are interested.
